Biography:
Norrin Radd, known as the Silver Surfer, first appeared in The Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966). He originated from the planet Zenn-La.
He offered himself to Galactus as a herald, agreeing to seek out planets for Galactus to consume, to spare his own world. Galactus imbued him with the Power Cosmic, transforming him into the Silver Surfer, covered in a metallic, chrome-like shell.
The Surfer eventually rebelled against Galactus when he realized the cost of his actions. He became a protector of Earth after witnessing the sentience that lived on the planet.
